"Greater Wichita AFS and the Millennium Christmas Tree"

Wichita Tree

From L to R: Julia (Germany), Jana (Germany), Bea (Brazil) Bonnie Till, Greater Wichita AFS Chapter Coordinator, and Anne Uyttenhove (Belgium).

The tree is a gift from the state of Colorado (they give one every year) to the people of the U.S. It is not the White House tree, but will stand in front of the capitol building and will be lit by the Speaker of the House on December 13. En route to D.C. the tree and its supporting crew are making stops. One stop was in Great Bend, KS. A group of AFSers in Wichita got word that an AFS student (Anne Uyttenhove) was part of the support team traveling to D.C. The Wichita group meet up with Anne (and the tree) in Great Bend on Tuesday, November 28. Anne is an AFS student intern working with the U.S. Forest Service during her 6 months in the United States.

An email link to our district representative is available.
